Ex-Leicester City star Emile Heskey claims that a Foxes signing is as good as Harvey Barnes. The former Fox and current pundit also believes that LCFC manager Enzo Maresca will bring Premier League football back to King Power Stadium.

Well, Heskey certainly rates Stephy Mavididi. And the Blue Army will welcome and listen to these opinions intently. The retired England international went so far as to say that the winger offers as much ‘if not more‘ than Harvey Barnes.

Barnes is now at Newcastle United, where he faces much competition for a starting place, when fit. Mavididi is enjoying a great season with Leicester at present. Heskey is very impressed with the 25-year-old’s skill set. He proposes to just give City’s summer signing the ball, and let him commit defenders.

Heskey is really sticking his neck on the line and getting his voice heard these days. To be fair, this next prediction seems like a foregone conclusion at this stage. Yeah, I’m getting complacent, but I’m not on the pitch. Anyway, I digress. The onetime Liverpool attacker suggests that Maresca is the right man for the LCFC job, as is pretty obvious.

In addition to that, Heskey states that the Italian is doing a good job on Filbert Way. Again, I bet pretty much every Leicester supporter would agree with that view. The 45-year-old adds that the style of football Maresca has his men play is effective and pleasing on the eye, too.

The former declares recruitment more functional and sufficient under the ex-Manchester City coach. And, most importantly for the east Midlands club’s fan base, Heskey asserts that the team will win promotion this season. That is, in spite of a ‘long’ campaign ahead at KPS.
