Leicester City will face Stoke City on Saturday afternoon at the King Power Stadium, as they hope to extend their lead at the top of the Championship table.

Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca, is expected to rotate his squad, especially after only playing on Wednesday night. Tiredness is bound to affect players especially those like Harry Winks who are so important to the Foxes that they will play most games, as long as they’re fit.

The Leicester boss will want to avoid starting several members of the squad for their third game in seven days, but with a two week break the Italian manager could feel he can get away with starting them. City now have the opportunity to force a gap at the top of the table. With only being 10 games into the season. Here are three players Maresca must start in Saturday’s fixture.

Leicester City’s Yunus Akgun

When he’s come on as a substitute he has really impressed and with Kasey McAteer out through injury could we see more of him? His pace and skills allow him to dart in between players as well as spin away from defenders. The 21-year-old’s technical ability also also him to run at players and get himself out of tight spaces. Although Akgun was initially bought as a winger, it appears he will take on more of a No.8 role.

Harry Winks

The 27-year-old allows things to happen in midfield as well as adding composure. He dictates play and is able to make intricate passes that opens the opposition team up. Winks has made a massive and positive impact on the Leicester City team and is at the heart of every forward attack.

Conor Coady

The former Everton defender has only just come back from injury, so probably won’t start. However, like he showed against the Reds and Preston North End his leadership and defensive skills are what sets him above the other defenders.

Although Vestergaard would be available for selection, Coady was in a back four that kept a clean sheet and would it be right to disrupt the defensive line? Coady also made some fantastic goal-line clearances against LFC. Vestergaard has significantly improved since recent seasons, however his inability to track back at times and his lack of pace is what lets him down.
