Swansea 1-3 Leicester: 3 Foxes positives and negatives
Myriad scorers, Enzo Maresca’s Ballers
Leicester City have plenty of ballers. The Nigerian forward, the English midfield duo – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Harry Winks – Portuguese leader Ricardo Pereira, and of course that signing we were waiting for: Stephy Mavididi. These are players who can contribute in a plethora of ways, with a lack of over-reliance.
Against Swansea, we had three different players for three goals. Against Stoke City, two for two. Preston North End? Two for three. And, let us not forget four for four against Blackburn Rovers. October has thus far shown us that Maresca’s side does not rely on singular players, although ‘Seniorman Kelz’ has been a clinical figure for the Foxes and has been present on the score line across multiple matches.
Under former management, a reliance was build around James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Jamie Vardy. When these players did not fire or were contained, a lack of chances and a lack of goals would sink Leicester City down to the Championship in the worst relegation story in the history of the Premier League: the most expensive squad to go down. Long may Maresca’s ballers reign.
