Leicester vs Sunderland: predicted Foxes starting XI
Ahead of Leicester City versus Sunderland in the Championship on Tuesday night, Foxes of Leicester predict LCFC’s probable starting lineup. Not to mention that FoL also cover Leicester views as a Foxes experts weighs in on defender Jannik Vestergaard’s future.
How do FoL expected the Foxes to lineup vs the Black Cats? See below:
Mads Hermansen; Hamza Choudhury, Vestergaard, Conor Coady, Ricardo Pereira; Harry Winks; Cesare Casadei, Wilfred Ndidi; Stephy Mavididi, Abdul Fatawu; Kelechi Iheanacho.
Will reborn Blue Army cult hero Jannik Vestergaard sign a new Leicester City contract? Foxes experts weighs in
When people reference Vestergaard’s desire to leave in the recently past transfer window, I think, ‘yep, he was probably very close to going’. But supporters and the folks looking in at King Power Stadium regularly overlook the suggestion that the Denmark international wanted to depart Filbert Way during the previous summer, too. In reality, he has reportedly declined offers to go elsewhere for well over a year now. Rejected bids were both loans and sales, apparently.
Yet maybe the relationship between club and player was meant to be, as they say. This is because Vestergaard is totally revitalised at City; he is even chipping in with vital goals now. And he is a presence at both ends of the pitch, particularly regarding set-pieces and floating long, delicate passes to forwards. The reinvigorated centrehalf – the definition suits the towering former Southampton player more acutely than centreback, in my opinion – is now actually a fan favourite.
However, will the big man sign a new deal with the east Midlands side? That is the question. It does remain puzzling that he turned down potential moves when out of favour under Brendan Rodgers. The 31-year-old’s agreement is supposedly up at the end of the season, but Leicester Mercury reporter Jordan Blackwell is unsure or unconvinced that another contract will be signed.
