Leicester 1-0 Sunderland: 3 standout players in emotional home win
For every fan of Leicester City Football Club, fixtures around this time in late October are especially delicate affairs. With the tragic passing of our beloved Chairman, Khun Vichai, happening around this time about five years ago fans always want his vision to be carried and continued. Of course the best way for his memory to be kept is the continued success of the club on and off the pitch.
City welcomed Sunderland AFC to the King Power Stadium to try and keep their steamrolling start to the Championship season driving forward. Leicester scored early, a headed goal from James Justin via a corner. Sunderland to their credit responded and pressed the Foxes, with some success no doubt. Leicester ended the first half in the lead.
Come the second half, it was more of the same. Sunderland pressed well for most of the half and created decent chances when they got the ball. Mads Hermansen made some good saves, and many Leicester players had chances ranging from good to guild’s edge. In the end, the Foxes ended up one nil victors. Let me give you three players who really stood out in this hard fought, emotional win.
