Leicester City 1-0 Sunderland: Foxes player ratings
By Arnav Bhatia
Leicester City player ratings (out of 10)
Mads Hermansen – 7.5
The Dane made two good saves to deny Jack Clarke in the first half. However, he made one error when he passed the ball straight to the opposition. Subject to Sunderland’s intensive pressing, he resorted to long balls and clearances in the second half.
James Justin – 7
After a wonderful run across the box to score his first goal since his injury return, the England international was solid for the majority of the game. He was beaten occasionally by the impressive Jack Clarke.
Jannik Vestergaard – 8
Another solid game from the resurgent Dane. Passed well under pressure and defended solidly.
Wout Faes – 6
Was lucky to get away without conceding a penalty after a rash sliding tackle late in the first half. Defended fairly well for the majority of the game but was beaten a few times.
Ricardo Pereira – 7
Made crucial interceptions and tackles in the first half but struggled to do the same in the second half.
Harry Winks – 9
Another game where Winks looks too good for the Championship. Despite the intensive Sunderland press, he passed well with confidence and calmness, and carried the ball forward wonderfully for the Foxes.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 7
Delivered a wonderful corner for Justin’s goal and was involved in the majority of Leicester’s play in the first half, setting up Stephy Mavididi’s chance. However, he was less involvement as the game went on.
Cesare Casadei – 7.5
The highly rated Italian youngster is definitely showing improvement in his game after struggling a bit when given starts. While he did miss a couple of good opportunities, he was very involved in the game, setting up two good chances for Iheanacho while also moving with the ball well. Has to do a better job defending, as players went past him a bit too easily.
