Who would be a writer during an international break eh? Kidding of course. This is a great time to get into fun things like rankings, random assessments and rehashes. Since we are all desperate for real football to return, let’s have a right old rank (yes, I’m aware of how that sounds). I’ll give you my top three best defenders in the modern history of Leicester City Football Club.

To preface my rankings I must give some background on myself. I’m an American that became a Leicester City fan at the end of the 2014/2015 season. I had decided since I wanted to watch football regularly and the best league was the English Premier League I would watch some games to find a team to follow. The Foxes were currently pulling off the great escape and I had happened to start watching and get hooked by the story.

I had friends that were Arsenal, Liverpool, United fans; none of those appealed to me. They all were teams that had a huge following and the sheep went for those teams when they had no prior connection. I wanted a non-trendy team to really root for and when I caught wind of this team almost dropping out of the league but they were pulling out win after win to stave that off, I decided no matter what this would be the team I supported.

My point in all this is to say my viewing window of Leicester City football is very small compared to maybe some other writers or indeed most readers on this site, so please forgive me as I won’t feign knowledge from eras I had no viewing of. Saying all of that, I’ll get on with the rankings. As the third best defender of recent Leicester City history, I give you Wesley ‘Lil Wes’ Fofana.
