Leicester could sign pair of wonderkids during January transfer window
Foxes of Leicester discuss two interesting transfer rumours as Leicester City are tipped to sign a pair of wonderkids during the January window. Are Valentin Barco and Jarell Quansah both respectively heading to King Power Stadium? Or will one or the other be signed on a temporary basis?
OK, winter is coming so we can expect plenty of transfer talk. As ever, FoL attempt to assess and offer verdicts on each and every Leicester-linked footballer over the festive period and into 2024. It’s a difficult job, but some football bloggers have to do it! Right, let’s begin today with speculation connecting the Foxes with a possible move for Quansah, the Liverpool starlet.
Quansah is a rated prospect at Anfield. Therefore the right-sided defender may be an ideal candidate to assist promotion to the Premier League whilst improving himself at Leicester. This report suggests that LCFC have already ‘checked out’ the 20-year-old. My view is: get him signed!
The second precocious footballing talent potentially targeted by Leicester City for a New Year swoop
The other player recently spoken of as prospective future Fox is Valentin Barco. Now, this choice might perhaps be more feasible merely because the Argentine fits the profile of athlete sought by the east Midlands side. In a press conference not too long ago at all, Enzo Maresca alluded to wanting a left-sided defender to deputise for, or replace, injured Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle. 19 year old Barco is a leftback.
The story is, funnily enough, that Man City will supposedly sign the Boca Juniors youngster and subsequently loan him to the Foxes. Maresca’s connection with the Citizens and Pep Guardiola was cited in the article which you can access via the highlighted word above. Even if the switch doesn’t occur in Jan, Guardiola is apparently keen for the LCFC visit to happen in the coming summer.
