Current Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is said to be pondering his footballing future from back home in the Netherlands. But LCFC life goes on. In the meantime, the Foxes board are reportedly busy. This includes, most importantly, chairman Aiyawatt 'Khun Top' Srivaddhanaprabha, director of football Jon Rudkin and CEO Susan Whelen. The trio allegedly have a shortlist of head coaches they would consider to replace the Dutchman.

However, there are now only so many remaining candidates still in race to be the next King Power team boss, if reports are genuine. That's because two managerial choices supposedly on City's wishlist have signed fresh agreements with their respective existing outfits. And, in addition to that aspect, one gaffer has been named the new manager at another club. A trio are consequently ruled out. Meanwhile the Bookmakers have named the likely left over contenders.

Contracts are there to be broken

So, all those claims and talk about Russell Martin becoming the Leicester boss were just nonsense. Or calculated click bait. It is annoying and we apologise for brining it to your attention.

If you are not aware, Martin has joined Rangers in Scotland as their head coach. This obviously rules the former Southampton man out. Not that many in LCFC's Blue Army fan base wanted him to begin with.

Unfortunately Lee Carsley and Liam Rosenior, arguably superior selections, aren't really viable either. They have respectively signed new deals at their establishments. Whether or not that would affect an attempted swoop, I am unsure. City don't have financial power.

Which person will take over at Leicester City according to the bookies?

Where does all this leave the East Midlanders?! Well, ex-England and Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is the most recent entry.

Though Carrick is apparently behind one-time Burnley boss Sean Dyche, if we trust the Bookies. Yet Sheffield Wednesday gaffer Danny Rohl is ostensibly the leading applicant.
