According to multiple sources, second place Premier League club Arsenal will be particularly busy this offseason. The Gunners have enjoyed a decent EPL season but Europe may bring their best results. However a striker, among other positions, must be found to propel the North Londoners to English top flight glory I'd imagine. And Mikel Arteta might perhaps have his eye on a Leicester City star. Arsenal are supposedly remain interested in Bilal El Khannouss. The playmaker's apparent price tag was actually already set by the King Power team's ownership. Let's hear more.
Arsenal interest in Leicester City star remains as Bilal El Khannouss' valuation is set
You couldn't blame Leicester City's Blue Army fan base for continued worry. Of course, being relegated after such a poor season almost felt like a weight lifted. The support can now focus on the subsequent campaign.
Obviously the absolutely futile optimism has subsided into reality on Filbert Way. Like I say, it feels like a strange relief not to hold misplaced faith anymore. But further concerns are certainly on the horizon at LCFC.
For example, PL sharks are now circling for any tasty Foxes they can catch. One clearly exceptional Leicester player (at times), is Bilal. I don't expect the club to be able to keep him.
That is, unless another Riyad Mahrez situation unfolds in Leicestershire. Late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha refused to allow Mahrez to leave for a couple of years because he was contracted.
Not an ideal scenario. Yet that was Khun Vichai's prerogative. Mahrez acted like a spoilt baby and often still does from what I've seen. Maybe Bilal will attempt to force a transfer too.
A story from this week suggests the Gunners remain open to a move. While Leicester will want to almost double their investment:
"the Foxes are under no obligation to part ways with one of their prized assets at a cut price. Sources suggest it would take a bid in the region of £40 million to persuade Leicester to sell..."
