In the wake of Marti Cifuentes' dismissal, the revolving door at King Power Stadium has swung with clinical yet makeshift precision. While the departure of the Catalonian gaffer was the headline, the subsequent clear-out of his backroom staff was a secondary situation if note. Assistant manager Xavi Calm, goalkeeping coach Javi Ortiz and analyst Carlos Martinez Gil were all relinquished by the King Power powers-that-be. This signals a clean break and almost definitive end to the previous era under the former Queens Park Rangers head coach. In their place, Leicester have turned to a familiar face to steady the ship, rehiring Adam Sadler to assist interim boss Andy King.

Sadler is a figure deeply woven into the fabric of Leicester’s modern history, having served the club for nine years before departing in 2023. A trusted lieutenant under the likes of Nigel Pearson and Brendan Rodgers, his return from Celtic provides much-needed tactical and homeland continuity.

Known for his meticulous preparation and previous experience as a caretaker, Sadler offers a safe pair of hands to a squad currently grappling with mid-table Championship stagnation. The 40-year-old is said to be well-liked at LCFC. As for "Kingy", the East Midlands side's legend finds himself in a familiar but temporary spotlight.

While King is overseeing first-team affairs for the immediate fixture against Charlton Athletic, his long-term future remains a subject of much speculation. He is highly regarded by the Foxes hierarchy; the club is, nevertheless, actively searching for a permanent external successor to steady the ship and, potentially, lead a sustained promotion charge next season.

If King does not land the top job permanently, he is expected to remain a vital bridge between the dressing room and the board. Although a new boss's arrival often dictates the final composition of the staff.

"Andy will be supported by the addition of Adam Sadler to the First Team coaching staff on a short-term basis. "

Regardless, City leaders may stipulate the Leicester icon's continued involvement. For now, his priority is restoring the 'Fearless Leicester identity' before the next chapter begins.
