One section of these two pieces of news is exactly the type of update Leicester City fans desperately crave. On the other hand, the second report for yours truly to analyse is technically the exact situation Foxes fans, or any support base, do not wish to hear.

Just to set your scene on Filbert Way, or more accurately, at Seagrave, fresh Foxes boss Russell Martin has begun preseason training. The former Southampton and Swansea manager, most recently, has also addressed the squad and made a first attempt to instil his modus operandi or dogma as a head coach.

Indeed, and to be totally frank, the City roster needed to hear a lot of this rather clichéd, yet necessary, instruction from a man who appears to be serious about the LE2 club's reascension. The City faithful certainly are invested, and the new manager will not last long if he is not qualified nor committed.

Many observers were optimistic about yhe motivational element. Although Martin mentioning behavioural issues whilst Hamza Choudhury and Harry Winks were both within earshot, or even while visually present, was ironic to say the least.

Anyway, now you know Martin means business, we can move to the reasons you are here: the two LE2 stories currently in the rumour mill. Do you want the good news or the bad first?

Good and bad Leicester City reports

The positive report is certainly a headline that caught the attention of Foxes of Leicester on Tuesday, claiming that former Ipswich Town star Conor Chaplin is set to sign for Leicester City. Rumours that an offer had been made, and potentially accepted, have been swirling for days.

Yet East Anglian Daily Times (citing BBC) suggest a two-year deal is reportedly on the table for Chaplin. This represents a proactive move in the market: providing depth and experience for a squad looking to make an immediate impact under new stewardship.

Secondly, and far harder to digest, is the potential exit of any athlete currently holding significant market value in Leicestershire. To be precise, Abdul Fatawu could soon leave Leicester, as he has generated substantial interest from all over Europe, if reporting is to be believed.

"West Ham United have made an approach for Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu , sources have told Football Insider."

Premier League and Championship sides are monitoring the situation, with West Ham United, Sunderland, Coventry City and Everton mentioned of late. It is, apparently, the Hammers who are making moves, or potentially headway, as according to Football Insider, the youngster is considered a clear target for the East London outfit and is keen.
