An elegant and rather stylish retired player is currently linked with taking over at King Power Stadium. Although, LCFC still have a manager at the moment; regardless of the possible appeal of one or two of the names I am able to reveal in due course. Yet the appropriate time for the (justifiably) much criticised Foxes ownership's axe to swing is arguably upon us. And Leicester City's owners don't particularly mind enforcing a change of team boss.

As a matter of fact, you could argue that the City chairman has relished a sacking or two during his uneven tenure on Filbert Way following his father, the late Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's, untimely passing. Will existing Leicester gaffer Marti Cifuentes eventually be fired from his role on Filbert Way? Is that a hypothetically valid eventuality? And which head coaches are in the frame to take over in Leicestershire? Let's get to it.

Managers linked with taking over from now unwanted Marti Cifuentes at Leicester City as latest odds revealed have graceful ex-Manchester United and England midfielder leading fairly distinguished pack of bosses

OK, let's waste no time by listing and appraising the six prospectively top candidates for the top Foxes job. Starting from the bottom: Martin O'Neill (8/1). I've stated previously that the Northern Irishman is a personal footballing hero of mine. Nevertheless, his return to England feels unlikely; especial with his Celtic work.

Fifth is Kevin Muscat (6/1). The English-born Australian manages Shanghai Port of the Chinese Super League. Muscat has quite the reputation from his playing days, along with apparently being a fiery gaffer!

Gary O'Neil sits at 5/1 right now. I've always considered the former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bournemouth manager an ideal LCFC candidate. I know I'm not in the majority - yet O'Neil did some impeccable work with Wolves before it derailed.

"One major bookmaker has opened the market on who could replace Cifuentes, with Carrick installed as the 6/4 favourite.

Former Rangers and Southampton manager Russell Martin (2/1) and ex-Spurs striker Robbie Keane, who is impressing in charge at Ferencvaros (4/1) are also in the running."
Tottenham Hotspur News

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur centre forward Robbie Keane (4/1), who was a marvellous footballer, may be deemed to inexperienced. However, his Ferencvaros run is going well.

Supporters in the East Midlands (well, only the Leicestershire section) will be displeased to hear that Russell Martin is down to 2/1 odds. At least the more palatable Michael Carrick leads on 6/4.
