Do Leicester City fans actually want Marti Cifuentes as the team's manager? We take a look at some comments from the Blue Army after the former Queens Park Rangers boss joined LCFC.

Finally!

On Tuesday, Leicester City Football Club returned to the headlines. The powers-that-be at King Power Stadium finally made a managerial appointment. Marti Cifuentes arrived on Filbert Way just in time for an insubstantial few weeks of preseason training and matches. After that, the Catalan will receive a baptism of fire in the challenging, but ultimately rewarding for some, English Championship division.

While we will focus on what fans can actually expect from Cifuentes on and off the pitch tomorrow, today is the time for the fans' perspective. What does the City faithful know about the 43-year-old, if anything? Do supporters in Leicestershire actually want Marti Cifuentes as the new first team head coach?

OK, thanks to BBC Sport I haven't had to annoy our social media followers with a poll or endless questions. The outlet have surveyed the Foxes for us. But what we do want to known is the general consensus from inside Leicester's fan base.

First of all, the indecision and inactivity at the King Power has alerted and upset the support.

"Even Harry Potter would struggle to get things sorted at the KP in the time left before the season starts! All catastrophically slow this summer. Who's staying? Who's coming in? Who's the best player in each position? What's our best starting eleven? And many more questions to be asked and answered. Is anyone at the top (pardon the pun) going to take responsibility for the glacial pace of change this summer?"

One rather bitter (I can talk) City fan believes the Spaniard will be gone by 2026. He expects "nothing" from the latest gaffer.

"After the worst performing season in my club's history, mismanagement and indecision from the board, and no explanation why it's taken so long, I'm expecting nothing from Cifuentes. Little success as a manager, working now for peanuts, and zero evidence of past loyalty. He'll be gone before the end of 2025. Hope he's got a magic wand!"

Though not all Foxes fans are so negative and cautious regarding Cifuentes. The subsequent supporter notes that the former did well in an awkward situation at Loftus Road. The commenter relishes a brand of attractive football.

"Most Foxes fans seem to be moaning about it. I'm actually quite optimistic. He did well at QPR under difficult circumstances, trying to play attractive football. A year to rebuild and I think he could do well for us."

Another seemingly well-informed spectator is slightly optimistic. Although he is similarly irritated that the installation took an age to complete. No change at the apex of the organisation is a separate gripe. If you'd like my verdict, I see potential in the demanding, modern boss.

"I'm actually fairly optimistic about this appointment. He offers the flexibility to deal with any of the situations we might face - from promotion races to points deductions and relegation fights! My only gripe, like for many fans, is why it took so long and why no change at the top of the club."
