Following the exit of valued assistant Brian Barry-Murphy at Leicester City, more departures are predicted by renowned sources. A Dutch domino could now also be set to topple at LCFC? What is happening on Filbert Way these days? And is it as much of a mess as widely reported?

If you are not aware, Ruud van Nistelrooy's assistant at Leicester City left the East Midlands on Tuesday. Brian Barry-Murphy, who learned his trade under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, is now the new Cardiff City manager. Have LCFC made another crucial mistake by allowing another highly rated person to leave King Power Stadium?

Meanwhile a separate and potentially key asset is set to fall on Filbert Way following Barry-Murphy's exit from Leicester's set-up. Will Jelle ten Rouwelaar, a top coach under van Nistelrooy, depart as well as rumours from pinnacle sources suggest? And where does this leave City head coach van Nistelrooy with only Andy King at his side and few Foxes allies?

You can look at Barry-Murphy leaving City in multiple different ways; one is positive and two are negative. I think it is three-dimensional: first of all, LCFC have lost a further possibly underused asset.

Furthermore, you could judge this to be the second significant Foxes domino to fall after Jamie Vardy. With ten Rouwelaar probably the next to assume that the writing is already on the King Power wall.

Alternatively, the arguably important egrese could just preceed the installation of a new and improved boss. But that is, naturally, mere conjecture on my part.

Jelle ten Rouwelaar

Incidentally, ten Rouwelaar is well regarded in the game too, especially in the Netherlands by accounts I've read. I have a feeling that the 44-year-old will be swiftly followed out of the door by van Nistelrooy. Maybe City will clean their own awful mess.

"Perhaps of greater significance has been the interest from Brighton & Hove Albion in one of Van Nistelrooy’s other assistants, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, who also looks set to leave the club."
