Next season should actually be fascinating for Leicester City supporters for a host of reasons. First of all, the Championship is never easy to get out of and ensures drama. Even when the East Midlands outfit won the division last time out with Enzo Maresca at the helm in 2023/24, there were road bumps. One aspect which will intrigue the City fan base is coming up against former stars of LCFC.

The Blue Army are already sure to see a few of their once favourite Foxes players in action next season. But those men will now be playing versus the King Power club. And one ex-Fox in particular says he has something to prove - and that may just occur when facing Leicester in the upcoming C'ship campaign. Who is this returning central midfielder? Why did he depart Filbert Way? And where is he playing now?

Newly promoted Hollywood-backed Wrexham are eyeing a free transfer for ex-Leicester man Danny Ward. The goalkeeper could be in competition with City next term. Similarly, recently departed LCFC 'keeper Daniel Iversen will be at Preston North End. Another tier two team.

Talk still exists suggesting the legend that is Jamie Vardy could go to Wales too. Though Foxes of Leicester dispute that claim: it is unlikely for Vardy to choose to complete against the Foxes.

Sidnei Tavares is a Leicester City Academy graduate. The midfielder left Leicestershire to sign for Porto for playing time nearly four years ago. In doing so, he reportedly 'rejected a new King Power contract'.

The 23-year-old didn't make it in Portugal. Now Tavares has been acquired by Blackburn Rovers, who will compete in England's second division as well. Evidently, he's keen to prove himself in England after leaving as a youngster:

"I’m very hungry. I want to prove everyone wrong. Everyone has their own opinions but what matters is mine and I just want to show everyone they’re wrong and do the best for me and the club"
