Ex-Leicester manager has one message for Nottingham Forest: get the job done

Steve Cooper managed both Nottingham Forest and Leicester City, but he's encouraged Forest to get the job done before facing Leicester.

Well, only three last games must be played before the 2024/25 season comes to an end. Without a doubt, it's been one to forget for Leicester, but the Foxes have one final aim before they bid farewell to the Premier League.

Next up for the Foxes, they play Nottingham Forest. Obviously, this is a game we want to be winning, regardless of the fate of being relegated. However, there is an added incentive for Ruud van Nistelrooy to finally do something right in this one.

If Leicester win, they could seriously throw a spanner in the works of Nottingham Forest's push for European football. For this reason, alongside the obvious bragging rights, Leicester should aim for nothing except a win.

That would then make it two wins on the bounce under Ruud van Nistelrooy, which nobody would have foreseen. Sure, it won't change Leicester's relegation certainty, but beating Nottingham Forest is always worthy of celebration around here.

Ex-Leicester boss Steve Cooper encourages Nottingham Forest

Not many have experienced both clubs, but one in very recent history has been Steve Cooper. Cooper tried his hardest to win over the Leicester faithful but failed miserably and now his recent comments won't sit well.

Speaking about Nottingham Forest's run in between now and the end of the season, which features Leicester in the next match, Cooper has urged Forest to "get the job done."

In his own words, Steve Cooper said: “Looking at the fixtures, there’s no reason why Forest, the players, the manager shouldn’t back themselves to get the job done. Even going 1-0 down and bouncing back, it’s another good sign of resilience and another good sign of concentration and of not panicking."

Yeah, not great from Cooper, is it? Obviously, Leicester fans weren't backing their former boss to ignore his old ties completely, but these comments have come at an awful time.

Still, these comments should give Leicester players, especially those signed by Cooper himself, motivation to go out there and get their own job done.

As mentioned, there's less on the line for Leicester. However, this should only spur the players on to slay their most bitter rivals.
