The fairy tale of 2015/16 has long since evaporated and been replaced by a grim reality that has left Leicester City in a state of absolute turmoil. Once the model for every aspiring underdog in the country, the Foxes are now a club defined by administrative negligence, a pathetically performing squad and a haunting loss of identity in a managerless world.

What on earth is happening at Leicester City?!

A recent six-point deduction for breaching financial regulations has acted as the ultimate indictment of the current regime. Thus dragging the club into a desperate English Football League Championship relegation scrap that seemed unthinkable only a few seasons ago.

On the pitch, the situation is equally dire. Following the sacking of underwhelming Catalonian Marti Cifuentes, the managerial hot seat remains vacant. Club legend Andy King is left to navigate a disaster not of his own making.

The lack of a permanent successor reflects a boardroom paralyzed by indecision and restrictions of their own volition. Meanwhile the team suffer humiliating consecutive home defeats; most notably a staggering collapse against Southampton that saw a three-goal lead vanish into thin air.

Patience elapsed

This toxic cocktail of failure, flailing and floundering has finally broken the patience of the club's most loyal observers. Former Leicester star and current pundit Matt Piper, speaking on BBC Radio Leicester, delivered a scathing assessment, suggesting that the "tide" will only turn when King Power departs. Ouch.

Piper's sentiments were literally echoed by talkSPORT's Jason Bourne (also an LCFC supporter), who argued that the club cannot "heal" under the current chairman's tenure. For many, the Srivaddhanaprabha era, once defined by the late Vichai's benevolence and guidance, has curdled into a cycle of mismanagement.

The message from the terraces and the airwaves is increasingly unified: for the Foxes to survive - the owners must sell.
