FPL Drafts
Today we bring you something slightly different and not directly related to Leicester City Football Club. Though there are, as always, significant LCFC angles - so don't worry, Foxes! Our editor, who won the Foxes of Leicester mini league last season, has devised his FPL team for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
Hopefully the collective is as dangerous in attack as it is prudent in defence and anchoring in midfield. Let's waste no more time and see the squad, as it is the opening day of the EPL! Here is FoL's final Fantasy Premier League draft from, prospectively, an ideally placed City fan.
Why is a Leicester City supporters supposedly well-placed to choose an FPL lineup
OK, it's just a theory, but here goes. When the club one supports is in the top flight, it undoubtedly affects certain selections. For example, I always feel the need to consider City players more than others. Alternatively, you feel guilty for not selecting your own favourites.
Just think of Chelsea fans strangely choosing proven unreliable goalkeeper Robert Sánchez - it makes no sense. Yet he's at 23.8% ownership.
But LCFC were so poor last season that it was much easier not to pick them. This time around, they aren't even in the division so we are care free and have carte blanche to be totally unbiased.
Final Fantasy Premier League draft
I am not bench boosting in GW1. Though I have provisions to do so soon. I plan an early wildcard when further information becomes available.
Tosin Adarabioyo could be an option if he is predicted to start. An honourable mention must go to Erling Haaland, who I will add soon even if it means ripping up my team (form dependent). That being said, here is my side.
Sels; Pedro Porro, Diouf, De Cuyper; Dewsbury-Hall, Wirtz, Palmer, M.Salah; Watkins, Wood, Bowen.
Substitutes: Dúbravka, P.M.Sarr, Estève, Dorgu. If you're wondering about the Leicester connection, KDH is only £5m with Leeds United to play first.
