Gary Rowett has not been the game-changing managerial appointment the powers that be at Leicester City would have wanted him to be.
Known to be a manager who can handle a basket case situation in the Championship, he just hasn't been able to inspire his lowly team to enough wins in their ongoing fight against the drop, with only one win collected from ten games.
At the time of writing, therefore, he will be sending the Foxes down to League One, with that amazingly going down as his first ever relegation from the second tier, on his varied CV.
He is clearly a talented manager, therefore, to never have such an indignity blot his career resume, but it's just not working out for him at this moment in time, in charge of the crisis-ridden side.
Rowett's issues as Leicester manager
He has arguably made the Midlands side a tougher team to beat, even if the Swans winner last time out saw Eom Ji-Sung dart forward with ease for the Welsh side, before teeing up a clinical Zan Vipotnik to slam the decisive goal home in the 1-0 loss.
From the ten games he has overseen at the helm, six have ended in draws, but this approach is going to do very little in steering the Foxes to safety, as they've become too overly cautious.
Indeed, only ten goals have put away from ten games, with Rowett needing to be a little more daring with his team selections, instead of sticking by the likes of Patson Daka and Abdul Fatawu misfiring up top.
There also just needs to be more fight and energy from his troops to go and collect some invaluable wins, with Leicester pretty much resigned to their losing fate against the Swans - despite having several opportunities to score - after Vipotnik broke the deadlock.
Rowett should try to take a leaf out of Nigel Pearson's book in attempting to steer his bruised team to safety against all the odds, with Pearson pulling off a relegation masterclass in 2015 in the Premier League.
Rowett needs to channel his inner Pearson
Rowett seriously needs a miracle at this point in time to ensure Leicester secures their Championship status for another season. After all, they are all already four points cut adrift, from 21st placed Portsmouth, who they play this coming weekend.
He is rather mild-mannered and meek from the sidelines, but he will need to transform himself into a passionate brute from the dug-out, if he wants to become a Pearson-style saviour.
The no-nonsense head coach spearheaded an epic great escape around 11 years ago in April 2015, when the Foxes looked nailed on to slip to the EFL.
Instead, courtesy of Pearson steering Leicester to four straight wins, with last-minute strikes becoming his speciality, survival was breathtakingly secured, as the basement dwellers skyrocketed to 14th in the league.
A resounding 22 points were taken from a possible 27 across their final nine league games, leading to the Nottingham-born manager going down in Leicester folklore forevermore.
Rowett would certainly etch himself into the club's hall-of-fame if he were to deliver a similar surge up the table, at the final hour, with a win against Pompey perhaps the start of an insane run that sees League One become a distant memory.
Don't hold your breath, though, as Leicester have continued to underwhelm this season, even when their necks have been on the line.
