How many points Leicester will likely get from tricky festive spell

Leicester City have a harsh period of games coming up during the Christmas and New Year festivities. Ruud Van Nistelrooy will have his work cut out for him. Here are our predictions for the matches and how many points we will realistically take back.

Comparing that to Leicester, we sit 16th with a -9 goal difference and gained 1.85 NPxG+xA/90 while conceding 3.36 throughout the season. If we ignore the Steve Cooper games, under 'RVN' we instead have 2.75 gained to 4.25 conceded. The East Midlands team have been significantly more creative in constructing killer opportunities but has increased the chances conceded too. Luckily, the Foxes were not punished for the additional concession with Mads Hermansen's performance against West Ham United being signature.

Wolves are up next. The relegation candidates sit 19th in the Premier League with a -15 goal difference. These Midlands rivals concede significantly more than they score and create little. Having gained 1.95 in NPxG+xA/90 and conceded 2.94, they regularly concede more chances. Against Everton, they conceded double the shots on target, just over double the shots in general, and their goalkeeper let all four on-target shots in the net. They are giving killer chances away.

Everton are around the same place as Leicester City and have scored marginally more goals (-7 goal difference). On top of that, with the Dutchman's squad's creativity, more players returning from suspension and injury hopefully, and more time working on the system, it is difficult to see a place where Wolves can get a win out of the Foxes.

Liverpool on Boxing Day. One less game played, an 18-goal difference in their favour, top of the league, extremely creative (3.25 NPxG+xA/90), possessive, barely conceding any major chances... What more is there to say? Nistelrooy's best chance is to park the bus from minute one and pray for a Stephy Mavididi, Jamie Vardy, and Facundo Buonanotte masterclass with devastating runs in behind to have any chance of victory.

Manchester City have lost more games than any of the top five. All four of their losses came in the last six fixtures, including against Brighton, Bournemouth, and Tottenham Hotspur. Leicester got five points from those three teams. The Sky Blues are at the most vulnerable they have ever been, although a lot will change between now and then. They are also more creative than their opponents, but the chances they are conceding now are more clinical.
