It is all systems go at Leicester City Football Club's world-class Seagrave training complex. The only problem is that the Foxes no longer remain at the apex of English (or global) sport.

As a matter of fact, the East Midlands side are not even on the second echelon of domestic teams at present. Oh no.

City have been resigned to the third-tier of footballing competition in England, just to set the scene for anybody unaware. Not to mention reinforcing to the Blue Army that, collectively, they must lower expectations for the coming campaign, and in general.

In addition to that factor, the Foxes fan base must also drop lingering resentments of the board and ownership - for now! That is because nothing will change, at least for the start of 2026/27.

Therefore hope and optimism would be superior stances at the moment - for Leicester supporters' mental health, if nothing else! Furthermore, few people in Leicestershire (a one-club county when it comes to professional men's footy) appeared to desire their latest manager to actually join; it is easy to understand why fans feel ignored.

Nevertheless, Russell Martin was subsequently appointed to much in-house social media fanfare! To be fair, Martin has stated almost all the right clichés since joining; he is definitely working the squad hard in training too!
