If shocking rumour on Leicester striker true - he'll lose all respect

The modern annals of Leicester City Football Club are increasingly read as a tragedy of unfulfilled promise and structural decay. It is to witness a somber narrative in which the acquisition of Patson Daka features as a particularly woeful chapter.

When the Zambian arrived on Filbert Way, he did so trailing clouds of suitability and optimism. To this day, he conducts his business and competes with an ever-present, radiant smile upon his face. Yet, it is a cruel irony of the centre forward's tenure that he has very rarely managed to put one upon the faces of long-suffering LCFC supporters!

Daka's underwhelming goal-to-game ratio (158 games, total goals: 27, equals 0.171 per appearance) stands not merely as a personal failure, but as a damning indictment of the East Midlands club's recruitment strategies in recent years. This profligacy in the transfer market has mirrored a broader, agonising decline of the club under Aiyawatt (Khun Top) Srivaddhanaprabha's tenure.

Once the paragons of astute team building, the hierarchy now oversees a squad trapped in the quicksands of an EFL Championship relegation battle. Within this grim reality, Daka's output has been catastrophically negligible. A return of a ridiculously low three league goals this season has acted as a definite factor in helping drag the club into the abyss.

The unlikely Leicester City villain

Now a more sinister cloud darkens the horizon. Whispers abound that the striker is actively concentrating on his next professional chapter (with a rapidly expiring contract) with Galatasaray, rather than dedicating his faculties to the Foxes' desperate fight for survival.

"It has been reported by Turkish outlet Aspor that Leicester forward Patson Daka has offered his services to Galatasaray ahead of the summer window."

If this slightly shocking rumour proves true, it will represent a betrayal of sporting fidelity. In the eyes of a wounded fan base, any player who checks out mentally before physical extraction is committing an unforgivable sin.

Should his gaze truly be fixed upon Istanbul, Daka will swiftly forfeit the desperately small amount of respect he still holds in the East Midlands. Oh dear!
