International Leicester transfer flop set to leave Foxes

Leicester City's recent forays into the transfer market did little to alleviate the squad's myriad deficiencies, serving instead to highlight a pervasive lack of strategic foresight. While the temporary acquisition of Jordan James proved a resoundingly successful venture, fleeting hopes of securing the Wales international on a permanent basis have long since evaporated for the disgruntled King Power faithful.

The less said about other transient additions, such as Aaron Ramsey and Julian Carranza, the better for the collective peace of mind on Filbert Way. Although, in fairness, a fit and firing Ramsey might have provided the necessary impetus to alter the side's trajectory during a campaign defined by stagnation.

Prospects like Divine Mukasa undoubtedly possess the requisite pedigree to evolve into elite footballers. Elsewhere Gary Rowett's failure to adequately integrate Dujuan Richards remains a glaring indictment of his managerial tenure.

Consequently, the club’s reliance on temporary stopgaps has proven to be a volatile experiment in hit-or-miss Foxes recruitment. Perhaps the most contentious and seemingly superfluous arrival was that of Southampton's Joe Aribo, a player who might once have been viewed as a fairly inspired capture.

Yet, the Nigeria international appears to have surrendered the ferocious bite and tactical intensity that previously defined his industrious style of play. While innate quality remains in professionals, even the most gifted athletes often struggle to flourish in environments fundamentally ill-suited to their respective skill sets.

Furthermore, Rowett once again demonstrated a lack of situational awareness, committing the tactical error of misusing the midfielder in a restricted wide role. The former LCFC manager rarely afforded Aribo the opportunity to find rhythm, although it must be noted that the player's languid performances rarely justified extended consideration.

A likely Leicester City exit

"Allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo is likely to leave Leicester City"

Unsurprisingly, the 29-year-old is not expected to remain at King Power Stadium. The Super Eagles man now prepares to return to the Saints amidst uncertainty regarding a rapidly expiring contract.
