The fact that Leicester City have not yet signed a centre forward, experienced or otherwise, is a severe worry on Filbert Way. Supporters would rather business be tied up already, with preseason halfway completed; the rather desperate fan base can also, sadly, be lured into clicking on the more bait-style articles.

Therefore, looking at whether or not one possibly perfect candidate is actually being considered by the Leicester hierarchy is the appropriate start. Unfortunately, one attacking option, Dom Ballard, may not be quite as close to LE2 as one reporter in particular has attempted to portray.
Nevertheless, this writer suspects that Ballard is probably being discussed by the Foxes internally because there is no reason he would not be as a suitable prospect. Yet the link does not appear concrete, as a matter of fact, the possibility of City seriously wishing to acquire the 21-year-old seems to have only ever been discussed by one journalist.
That 'journo' employed typically vague, or even ambiguous or evasive, language in order to connect City with the player. Due to the athlete arguably being an ideal fit at King Power Stadium, it seems as though the regional publication employee literally touted Ballard himself, then returned a week or two later to reiterate a connection of his own concoction.

One seed was planted on July 5 (but potentially earlier too) when a standard opinion piece used loose terminology to label the forward 'a dream addition to a summer wishlist'. By July 20, the reporter returned to the subject, pivoting to claim the player had been actively "touted" as a potential arrival.

The main reason for suspicion is that the writer in question has never claimed anything genuine like 'being discussed internally', or, alternatively, 'Leicester have a definite interest'. Instead, the commentary relies entirely on generalities and tentative connecting words like "been mentioned" or "a potential" to possibly imply momentum where none presumably exists.
Ultimately, yours truly hopes there is an actual interest here, as the prolific Leyton Orient goalscorer could genuinely thrive in Leicestershire. Although, the King Power faithful only want to read legitimate insights born from believable journalism.

Hopefully this is a mere oversight and won't happen again. However, only Bristol City have reportedly made any legitimate approaches for the professional. Seemingly speculative talk and mere opinion continued on Monday.
