For football clubs the size of Leicester (a city with a population of approximately 366,000 or so people), losing their prominent and best players is a constant worry. Even though the Foxes won the Premier League under 10 years ago (is it really nearly nine years since we lifted the trophy?!), LCFC faces similar challenges to 'the other 14'. That's a collective term for those outfits not amongst the traditional EPL big six.
Every season, those of us in the Blue Army wonder, discuss and debate among ourselves which City stars might perhaps leave after a successful personal campaign. Will the Manchester rivals come for someone again this time, like with Harry Maguire and Riyad Mahrez? Or can Chelsea pick another decent athlete to misuse? What usually happens when Arsenal, Tottenham or Liverpool pursue a Fox?
I am not for one moment suggesting Leicester are a small or 'tinpot' organisation in the slightest. We have consistently outfought as well as outfoxed bigger and greater funded groups for decades now. City just don't quite have the global support which the aforementioned teams boast and profit from. Therefore which of their eminent footballers should the east Midlanders worry about? On the other hand, which three standouts might King Power aim cash in on?
Leicester City at risk of losing trio of stars regardless of staying up or not
Facundo Buonanotte
You're probably thinking to yourself, 'but he's on loan'. And yes he is. But he's absolutely quality, so Brighton & Hove Albion will likely want him back for next season. If not, any top flight side would benefit from the Argentine.
Bilal El Khannouss
Another one you didn't wanna see. Yet Bilal possesses so much potential that significant sides will ultimately be sniffing around him.
Mads Hermansen
The talented goalkeeper is a further player some fans think we'll be lucky to keep. Even if we survive, Hermansen will be coveted too. Brace yourselves; at least we have Jakub Stolarczyk too.
