Ricardo Pereira was a decent servant at Leicester City. Certainly a likeable and previously trustworthy and exciting player, the Portuguese was one of the favoured Foxes on Filbert Way.

However, without being awkward and intentionally not befitting the occasion, Ricardo's departure is a bit of an anticlimactic non-event for the Foxes support right now. As previously mentioned, he's a professional - but the last thing Leicester need at present are good guys.

The East Midlanders must now recruit the appropriate toughness, experience and aspirational veterans and senior squad members required to blend with. Not to mention instructing the wonderful Seagrave youth.

While Ricardo goes down as a fan favourite, he's not on the legendary LCFC list. His tenure, once defined by electric surges down the flank, has succumbed to the inevitable attrition of time, tactical evolution - and King Power problems.

Regardless, the Blue Army thank the full back and wish him well; only further wishing that it all ended differently. The sentimentality of his departure is swiftly eclipsed by the cold, pragmatic demands of a club seeking to redefine its competitive identity amidst a shifting landscape.

Good Leicester City news at last

Although, good news also emerged from King Power Stadium this week: it appears two unwanted Foxes may be on their way out of the door. Soon-to-be contractless (and regularly goalless) duo Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew are tipped to leave too.

"...expected to be one of a number of players to leave City this summer, including the likes of Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka, whose contracts also expire in June."

For a faithful weary of missed opportunities and offensive stagnation, the prospect of clearing the decks offers a refreshing sense of renewal. The potential exodus of ageing or failed figures signals a necessary pruning of the squad, allowing for a more clinical injection of talent.

The Pereira era concludes with a polite nod. Now a ruthless pivot toward efficiency must occur with the respective exits of Daka and Ayew. An LE2 party ensues.
