A Leicester City midfielder is reportedly eyeing a transfer exit in January. With Sevilla his most likely option, he's open to the temporary La Liga switch.

Well, Leicester have done it. They've put together back-to-back Premier League victories, for the first time this season. Steve Cooper will be content, watching his side come from behind to beat Southampton away from home.

So, Leicester are finally hitting some good form. It's come at the right time too, with the fixture schedule only bound to heat up from this point on.

However, despite Leicester's turnaround in fortune, there remains one player who is forced to watch on from the sidelines. Therefore, Leicester anticipate him to push for a move in the January window.

According to a report from Spanish outlet El Sevillista, which cites sources close to Sevilla, Sevilla is currently considering reintegrating Boubakary Soumare back into its squad.

Soumare spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Sevilla. He had a successful time, becoming the engine in the Sevilla setup. So much so, they would like to re-sign him on a loan deal in the January transfer window.

According to the source, Sevilla would like to include a buy option at the end of this loan. This could make it a more favourable option for both sides. However, Sevilla would like less than the €14m Leicester City originally quoted them.

Soumare has had a grim return to Leicester City. Despite impressing on loan last season, he has not been a favoured option for the Foxes.

Now under the new management of Steve Cooper, Soumare is rendered surplus to requirements. He cannot compete with the likes of Harry Winks and Wilfred Ndidi in the Foxes lineup, sometimes not even used from the bench.

Therefore, Soumare is unhappy at Leicester. It is understandable, given his lack of minutes. However, there's not much Steve Cooper can do. It's not worth altering the winning formula the new boss has found in recent weeks, to facilitate an unhappy Soumare.
