Leicester City are in a transfer race with Tottenham Hotspur for an Aston Villa forward. It is a race which the Foxes currently lead.
Leicester City hope to secure their place in the Premier League for next season. They never expected to be flying high in the top half, as safety was always their objective heading into the campaign.
In terms of the side's tipped for potential relegation, Leicester are in the strongest position to achieve this feat. Steve Cooper's Foxes might not be the most consistent but as long as they keep picking up points, they can rebuild for next season.
That said, Leicester need to strengthen their squad as early as possible. The upcoming transfer windows are golden opportunities.
Leicester City tipped to beat Tottenham Hotspur to Aston Villa transfer
According to a report from Fichajes, Leicester City are in pole position to sign Louie Barry, who they describe as "the star of the English third division." The Aston Villa starlet, on loan at Stockport County, is also of interest to Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite not being proven at the highest level, there is plenty of excitement around Louie Barry. So much so, that it is a surprise he isn't yet considered by Aston Villa. Still, the West Midlands side already boasts an attack which is difficult enough to break into.
Leicester City recently learned of Abdul Fatawu's injury. It is not great news for Steve Cooper and the forward is expected to be ruled out long-term.
That said, it is now the perfect excuse for the Leicester City board to go out and spend. They simply need to invest in their front-line, as Steve Cooper cannot achieve his objective with the forwards dropping like flies.
It is expected that Aston Villa will demand around £12m for the sale of Louie Barry. Given how highly he is valued, this could prove to be an incredible investment later on down the line.
