Leicester defender set to leave amid battle for Fox's signature

It is all systems go at Leicester City Football Club right now: the Spain training camp is underway following a trio of friendly victories for Russell Martin's evolving Foxes. That was after bosses at the East Midlands outfit undertook a purge of all unwanted and surplus players, especially those who were not good enough or earned too much.

Monga joined Manchester City after Arsenal were too frugal to pay a fair fee; the Gunners might live to regret that decision in more ways than one after offering impetus to the Citizens.

Other standout Foxes such as Abdul Fatawu will almost certainly depart Filbert Way in addition to Monga. The Ghanaian winger is set to bring in a substantial sum from his transfer to Ipswich Town, though most of the Blue Army will wish the extremely gifted baller the best.

Quality defenders shall be allowed to leave too, along with the aforementioned pair, if reporting is accurate. Jannik Vestergaard has already gone, prompting lighthearted questions from supporters regarding airport transport offers.

​Ben Nelson is another player who could easily feature in these discussions, with the centre back ostensibly attracting interest from Manchester United, Sunderland and Torino. Born in Northampton, Nelson is a prime candidate for a big move due to his composure and England youth pedigree.

Harry Souttar's Leicester City future

In the meantime, Harry Souttar won further plaudits during international duty, and City may well use this leverage to their advantage regarding a deal. Naturally, the Blue Army faithful would be satisfied if the big defender stayed at the King Power, notwithstanding a potential £15m valuation.

Souttar has reportedly attracted firm interest, leading to suggestions that a bidding war could erupt over his signature. Stoke City, Sheffield United, Wrexham and Cagliari appear to be the latest suitors keeping a close eye on developments.
​However, Souttar has travelled to Europe with his teammates for offseason sessions, meaning an immediate departure is not finalised.
