Today (Tuesday, October 14), I'd like to take a look at something very topical at the moment. Even if you wanted to, it is extremely difficult to avoid news of this matter on television, social media and online. Yes, you've guessed it: I'm talking about Artificial Intelligence. It would never have taken long for the system to infiltrate football, or sport in general, in various instances.

I'm sure statisticians and backroom staff have been employing certain models in the Premier League for a while now. Similarly, I imagine recruitment departments have attempted to employ these methods in order to test their theories regarding additions. Yet the media appears to love trying to use AI so to make alternative predictions to the previously mentioned bunch.

Predicting match outcomes, final tables and trophy triumphs is now the norm in this (or their) industry. I can see massive and wide-reaching benefits for computer science, undoubtedly. Yet a football analyst such as myself will not have to warn the readership of potential and very real problems concerning AI in the wider world. Nevertheless, we have a Leicester City-related story in regards to the matter at hand.

Leicester City fans may only have to wait four years to repeat their own thrilling and unfathomable history

Football League World, who do devise some interesting concepts, have given AI a new task. When does it reckon the 24 English Football League Championship clubs 'will next lift a major trophy'. Unsurprisingly, the Foxes had the best result of the division

Although, Leicester's Blue Army fan base will have to wait until 2029 for that hypothetical honour. However, some teams have got even longer expectations - I might not even be around when some sides win silverware!

"Leicester's last two major honours came more recently than any triumph for a Championship club, with their remarkable Premier League win in 2016 kickstarting a period of consistent European football - capped by an FA Cup win in 2021."

For example, the forecast is 2052 for Millwall. Whereas Coventry City could apparently be triumphant by 2032.
