Many Leicester City players, stars and the not so brightly shining, are leaving this summer. The level of quality and just whom those Foxes will be replaced with remains the million-dollar question!
City possess minimal funds in order to make requisite signings, therefore it is difficult to gauge their approach. At least some decent free transfer options exist out there for the recruitment team to explore.
Though one element is very worrying for LCFC's Blue Army faithful. The East Midlands club remains remarkably quiet in the market ahead of the 2026/27 campaign beginning next month, as every other League One side has made at least one signing.
Hopefully, Leicester are simply saving the best until last, but that sentiment may be clutching at straws given the lack of concrete movement. Academy sensation Jeremy Monga has now departed for Manchester City in a deal worth a reported £10 million upfront, with further add-ons likely to follow.
This significant exit is part of a broader exodus, after senior players left on Monday upon the expiry of their contracts. Meanwhile, Ben Nelson's future at King Power Stadium continues to dominate local discourse.
Ben Nelson's Leicester City future
The young centre back has been the subject of a formal offer from Torino, though the Leicestershire outfit initially declined the disrespectful £1 million approach. Yet Nelson has made his desire for a fresh challenge clear, having reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Leicester.

Nelson has told Leicester he wishes to leave and has turned down a new contract offer at the club with only one year remaining on his current deal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old is eager to make the move to Italy, and it seems an agreement will eventually be found between the two parties. The Telegraph's John Percy suggests that a fee of £10m is the baseline demand for the defender.

This valuation comes after the LCFC Academy product was previously linked with a move to Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer. The Gemans ostensibly made their move, too.
City's squad is receiving a radical overhaul under new management, with Russell Martin preparing for his first season in charge of the Foxes. Whether the club can evolve while maintaining a competitive edge in League One remains the most pressing concern for the supporters.
New kits and pre-season friendlies are on the horizon, yet the composition of the starting line-up is far from settled. The coming weeks will undoubtedly be telling as City look to navigate a challenging financial landscape; each exit and arrival will thusly be analysed comprehensively by all.
