Leicester line up replacement manager Mikel Arteta highly rates

Thankfully for the currently suffering Blue Army, the Leicester City Football Club hierarchy are lining up a replacement for former manager Steve Cooper. Cooper clearly wanted to do well for himself; he definitely appeared to respect the Foxes as an organisation and its fan base. Yet things simply just didn't work out for the Welshman in these increasingly difficult times on Filbert Way.

The Leicestershire outfit made the move and ultimately sacked the one-time Nottingham Forest boss. As Cooper does have a relationship with the Tricky Trees, there won't be too many tears shed in the Leicester camp as he eventually departs. That scenario became more and more likely to occur - and did on Sunday afternoon. Happily for LCFC supporters, an experienced gaffer might perhaps take over at King Power Stadium. That's if we can trust the latest assertions doing the rounds.

Intriguingly, the person in question is championed by similarly high calibre Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard played for the rumoured Leicester managerial target in his playing days, and rates him very highly. Of course, Cooper has only just lost his job today. But our modus operandi is to assess every City rumour we can, while adding our own views.

Chelsea get an easy ride in east Midlands

I don't know about you, but as a Leicester supporter I found the Saturday lunchtime match a truly hard watch. There was no invention from the LCFC team as a whole. Motivation and even commitment are unsatisfactory. The side don't appear to press their opponents anymore either.

Lacklustre is the word I'm looking for. I don't wholly blame Cooper, although he is the problem's main element. If there is a sound game plan in place, it isn't adhered to by any means. A new blueprint (excuse the pun) is advisable.

Some of the Foxes players have regressed to some of their old, unattractive ways: booting the ball up the pitch aimlessly when in any defensive danger. You've got to question Mads Hermansen for not commanding his box appropriately too.

The less said about full backs James Justin and Victor Kristiansen the better! The severe lack of creativity due to having three, or as many as four, defensive midfielders is a throwback LCFC fault. Change is a must!

David Moyes in the frame at Leicester City?

I'm gonna go ahead and say that Moyes would be ideal in the short-term: survival. Though he'd be counterproductive in the long-term. But what does speculation suggest?:

"Now, reports in Spain claim that Leicester are already looking at potential replacements for Cooper as the Foxes face a favourable run of fixtures ahead.

And one of the men that they are considering making a move for is ex-West Ham, Manchester United and Everton coach David Moyes, who has been out of work since his time with the Hammers came to an end over the summer.

The Scot is well regarded by his fellow bosses too, with Mikel Arteta dubbing him an "exceptional" coach before the sides met last season, having played under him at Everton.

'I would go through a brick wall for him when he was my manager. I think everybody would in that squad. [He is] exceptional at managing the group and dealing with individuals, and a very special person, a really special human being.'"
