Just as Leicester City's Blue Army were beginning to feel content and at ease with the amount of injuries we have, a Fox has suffered a problem. To be fair, this latest issue was sustained by a loaned Leicester professional and not while in LE2. So the decent contemporary record of recovery and fitness at King Power Stadium stays in tact.
It was all so different only one or two years prior, with then-squads suffering heavily with knocks, injuries and all sorts of difficulties. If you can remember back to Brendan Rodgers' tenure on Filbert Way three or four sessons ago, the complications were insurmountable. It felt like almost half the important and starting personnel were out of action at one or two stages of that era.
Obviously health and management staff have come and gone in that period - along with the majority of the roster altering entirely. Now things have settled with regard to athletes' wellbeing. So it was a bit of a shock to read Sunday morning's news. One loaned Leicester player has got injured with his temporary side and has undergone surgery. It is expected that Will Alves will now be out for months. Will he return to City from Huddersfield Town? Let's have a look.
Leicester loan player sustains injury and has operation so will be out for months
Unfortunate for Alves, another chance to impress while temporarily out of Leicestershire has backfired. His previous switch to Cardiff City started out great. But that move ultimately ended bitterly.
The attacking midfielder and occasional winger managed to play on only four occasions for the Terriers. Huddersfield head coach Lee Grant confirmed that it is a foot issue.
"It’s a real big blow. He’s come in and been so bright with his energy, so bright with his performances."Grant
Alves took to social media to inform his fans of the situation. It is currently unknown whether he'll return to Seagrave for treatment.
