Leicester City Football Club have done absolutely nothing to ease or even soothe the pain and stress currently enveloping their Blue Army support. It is a real shame that the hierarchy has not seemingly (or, more accurately, obviously) learned from its mistakes, performed necessary due diligence, or begun to rectify the errors of its ways in general.
Even now, former caretaker manager Gary Rowett has not been formally thanked, nor even publicly dismissed from his short-term role. Strange, to say the least; ironically, the LCFC faithful have sadly become accustomed to this kind of negligence and dereliction of duty.
Nevertheless, having a permanent manager in situ would surely begin to alleviate such a difficult, troublesome and deeply troubling situation. Yet the King Power custodians 'in charge' on Filbert Way appear arrested in development: acting as the primary architects of the East Midlands club's ignominious downfall.
Leicester City bosses seek team manager
However, perhaps the ownership and chief football officer Jon Rudkin (whose continued presence may eventually kick-off a riot) are not as careless and indifferent as certain embittered supporters (this writer included) suspect. Maybe the under pressure pair are finally making necessary moves, a notion currently gaining traction via the reporting of insider Alan Nixon.
According to Josh Holland of Leicester Mercury, a final and 'lucrative' offer has been dispatched to 'lure' a specific target to LE2. The only lingering problem is that the prospective candidate is a man the support appears firmly against, continuing the long-standing, disconnect-prone tradition of Aiyawatt "Top" Srivaddhanaprabha and Rudkin.
"Alan Nixon has reported that the Foxes are hoping to land the former defender and have tabled their last and lucrative offer to lure him. However, the possibility of appointing Martin has not gone down well with some sections of the fanbase."
Hypothetically appointing Russell Martin, who failed so miserably at Southampton and Rangers, is a high-stakes gamble so precarious that it would threaten to alienate a fractured fan base further. Whether this pursuit represents a masterstroke of recruitment or another catastrophic misreading of the room remains a question that might perhaps soon define the trajectory of an already suffering side.
