Leicester City are in Premier League peril, we all know that. And trust me, here we don't like to dwell on that fact but it is necessary for analysis and ultimately a team assessment and evaluation. The Foxes have struggled upon their return to the big time for several reasons, including off the pitch activity and a lack thereof. LCFC's main problem appears to be minimal impactful signings.
A simple apparent reason exists as to why City don't sign suitable enough acquisitions: Profit and Sustainability measures. Yet the club is also ran poorly in other areas, for example the director of football's narrow or confused vision. Another negative major factor to the detriment of progress as well as success is the incorrect choice of managers for a couple of years now.
All these elements combine to make an unenviable current state at King Power Stadium. Furthermore, it is said the chances of the east Midlands outfit's relegation just increased. Obviously the aforementioned instances and issues were involved in creating the mess. But why is the likelihood of demotion back to the Championship so prevalent all of a sudden? And can City claw their way out of this crisis of their own making once again just like in the Great Escape era?
In addition to looking at that story, we have one further LCFC matter to address. This one concerns Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy's expectation for the Foxes. Or, possibly, a kind of promise to the Blue Army fan base. The Leicestershire team lost to Arsenal in their most recent English top flight fixture. Even though they were defeated by the Gunners, the former Manchester United attacker has supposed cause for optimism.
Have Leicester City taken a step towards relegation?
"The numbers are stacked against Leicester City in their battle for survival with Opta now predicting the club have a 92 per cent chance of relegation.Leicestershire Live
It’s looking bleak for their fellow promoted clubs too. Southampton, 10 points from safety, have a 99.96 per cent chance of going down. In 10,000 simulations of the end of the season, the Saints stayed up in just four.
Ipswich improved their chances of staying up with that creditable draw at Villa Park, but only slightly. Opta now have their relegation probability at 89.7 per cent."
Ruud van Nistelrooy sees something he likes
