There is a record that Leicester City owns. 13 times in the club's history, the Foxes have earned a promotion into the top flight from England's second division. Although LCFC will play in the Championship following a poor 2024-2025, they will be expected to at least be in a position to make the play-offs by the end of next season.

It's the type of feat that is difficult for others to catch up to. Winning over a dozen promotions is something that City can proudly look at. The issue is that there is a club coming from League One that will also expect to be in the running late next season.

Birmingham City earned their place in the Championship after an impressive accumulation of 111 points. Now, knowing that the competition will increase, the club is ready to make a splurge during the transfer window in their aim to win promotion again.

If the Blues were to do so, they would draw even with the Foxes in terms of the number of times their side has earned promotion into the top division in all of England. While not usually the case with records, in this instance, fortunately for City, there is a strong onus for them to stave off their competing promotion seekers.

It should show an overall concern of where the two clubs currently find themselves, however. The Blues appear to be riding a wave of momentum, and there is a lot of buzz and a strong likelihood of them being able to attract the needed talent to at least stay in the top half of the Championship.

Comparing positions with that of Leicester

City, on the other hand, is falling into disasters across the club, and some fear that the Foxes will be closer to a side that is battling two successive relegations if they can't get their act together.

Between a looming Ruud van Nistelrooy decision and needing to make up for the players departing here shortly, among other aspects, LCFC is not in a good position compared to the recently promoted side.

In what should be a doable effort, the Foxes could end up regaining their place in the Premier League again. It will, however, require significant changes throughout the club. If those don't happen, a certain Birmingham side will be right there, ready to eclipse their current record.
