According to a report, Leicester City manager Steve Cooper may actually be sacked by King Power chiefs very soon. Apparently the Welshman could receive his marching orders before the Foxes side play his former club Nottingham Forest very soon. But what must Cooper achieve to keep his LCFC job? And how could the 44-year-old end up being relieved of duty with a crucial run of games upcoming?

In addition to covering that story, there is another Leicester-related article to examine. Striker Tom Cannon is a wanted man. City are reportedly thinking of calling on one of their own for extra firepower in January. Will Cannon be able to make his mark in the Premier League just as he has in the Championship? Or, alternatively, will the Leicestershire team cash in on an in-demand prospect with the jury still out on his ultimate quality?

Leicester City consider recalling up-and-coming forward Tom Cannon

Cannon wasn't afforded much time in a City shirt during his initial year with the east Midlands club. In fact, the former Everton man wasn't even given many minutes in order to show Leicester supporters what he's capable of.

Clearly a couple of managers haven't fancied using or developing the 21-year-old as they perhaps should have. Enzo Maresca and Steve Cooper are possibly culpable in that regard. To be fair, some Foxes fans could be forgiven for thinking the centre forward was allowed to leave permanently.

Yet Cannon remains an LCFC player at this stage; at this very moment he is at Stoke City on loan. His star recently rose when he managed to net four goals for Stoke in the one match against Portsmouth.

Bosses on Filbert Way are now allegedly contemplating a recall. Although they don't want Cannon back to play a role at the King Power. No. The potential homecoming may be short-lived, with City expected to cash in on a possible loan-to-buy transfer to a Championship outfit.

Steve Cooper might be sacked prior to Nottingham Forest fixture

Prior to meeting Midlands rivals Forest in the Premier League, the Leicester gaffer has supposedly been given an ultimatum. And there is a chance that Cooper could be out of a job in the near future.

The Foxes' director of football along with, presumably, the club chairman are said to be aware of much of the faithful being disgruntled with Cooper and his playing style. Now this statement arrives:

"However, the fans are growing impatient with the football he’s playing at Leicester City and the board clearly aren’t too happy either.

According to Leicester City News, he has been given an ultimate for the Southampton clash, just one game prior to facing Nottingham Forest.

It’s stated that the club’s hierarchy are aware of the supporters’ frustration, which first began when he was appointed as Maresca’s successor – following a breakdown in talks with Graham Potter.

He’s under immense pressure and it’s understood his position could come under threat if City suffer defeat at Southampton after the international break."
