Leicester City Football Club are on the road this coming weekend, though the Foxes do not have far to travel for their next English Football League Championship clash. That's right, it's a Midlands derby versus Derby County on the calendar for Saturday, December 6.
Only two points and a mere five places separate the sides in the tier two table. Yet the Rams are seemingly the favourites for what should be a particularly competitive contest. The Rams have been labelled a 'resilient and organised outfit' under head coach John Eustace.
In fact, one star Fox expects a right battle for his LCFC team at Pride Park Stadium. Jordan James played for Eustace at Birmingham City's St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park. Therefore the Wales National Team representative can provide some insight for us, along with his Leicester teammates.
However, what the box-to-box midfielder envisions is a difficult contest against Derby, which I will expand on later. Evidently that stance might perhaps have been enforced by the latest fitness news emerging from Derbyshire. The King Power club's foe have received a double uplift ahead of what is sure-to-be an intruiging match.
Leicester City man Jordan James on Derby County and their manager John Eustace
Many predict the Derby fixture to actually be more testing for Leicester than their previous, respective two outings against Southampton and Sheffield United. Certainly City's 21-year-old, Steven Gerrard-esque professional, James agrees. He talked about what faces LCFC prior to kick-off:
"We have to fight. I think that’s the minimum that the fans deserve. I’ve been at a club, at Birmingham, where all we did was fight and it gets you very far.James, Derbyshire Live
“That’s the minimum for us and we have to show that. I know it’s a derby, I know the manager from [my time at] Birmingham. I know how he plays and sets up, so it’s going to be tough.
“They’re going to fight and make it horrible and we’re going to be ready for that. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully I’m able to score another goal. It gives it an extra edge."
Rams injury update means more concern for Foxes
Sadly for the visitors, the hosts have been given good news on a pair of ballers. First of all, centre forward Rhian Brewster will probably be selected for action against City at the weekend. Meanwhile veteran centre back Danny Batth could also be facing the Foxes on Sat':
"Rhian Brewster could be back to face Leicester City this weekend while Derby County defender Danny Batth should also be fit for the clash at Pride Park."
