While being unveiled as an energy drink 'brand ambassador' (of all overblown things!), Abdul Fatawu made some remarks that will initially hurt and/or annoy the Leicester City fan base. The Ghana international baller then immediately made a predictably swift U-turn to cover his back.

In the high stakes of mechanical, cryptic and coy sports interviews - the winger requires much media training. Possibly even a spokesman; which would be a first for (technically, at this exact moment) a League One footballer.

Of course, Fatawu belongs in a much higher division; even loftier than the EFL Championship. However, at times this season, he seemed uninterested in helping his team and more interested in something indefinable. Inscrutable.

In addition to the ultra-talented Fox's occasional indifference and questioning teamwork - he provided world-class, no, world-beating, moments of mesmerising quality. Nonetheless, Fatawu's comments at the Rush Energy Drink (insert eye-roll emoji) were a true sight to behold.

What in the PP training was that?!

During a formal press engagement, the mercurial winger suggested he was "feeling amazing", only to retreat into the safety of platitudes once the weight of his words registered. Read the room, Abdul! He also oddly declared himself 'happy with his performance'.

"I feel amazing. Actually it’s not good because I’m a team player so it’s not feeling good with the position we are,” Fatawu Issahaku told media men during his unveiling as a brand ambassador of Rush Energy Drink.

“I just say I feel happy with my performance but I should have done better."

This linguistic clumsiness betrays a lack of PR savvy that often accompanies raw, prodigious talent. Fatawu's tenure at King Power Stadium has been defined by this very dichotomy: a player capable of conjuring transcendental brilliance on the flank, yet prone to lapses of perceived detachment.

The recent rhetorical stumble wavering between happiness and transparent regret serve as a microcosm of his season. While his physical prowess is undeniable, Fatawu's verbal execution and sporting commitment remain unrefined.

For a player of such stratospheric potential, the bridge between youthful exuberance and experienced poise remains under construction. Leaving a loyal fan base questioning if his heart ever belonged to LCFC.
