With the New Year not long away at this point (it is only 28 days from now, as a matter of fact), the January transfer window is becoming an increasingly prevalent topic amongst sports media outlets. Leicester City Football Club are often mentioned as a team wanting to sign some new recruits. However, we do not expect the Foxes to spend much, if any, money on players.

So how will City add any fresh faces to their struggling and overhyped roster of seemingly mid-level English Football League Championship-standard footballers? By the way, if you thought that was a harsh appraisal of the squad - go and have a look at our league position and goals scored statistics and then get back to me! Anyway, LCFC will likely pursue loans and free transfers again. That's the situation our owner has placed us in via mismanagement, oversight or breaking certain rules etcetera.

Therefore any form of financial income including investment is also desperately required on Filbert Way too! Leicester's Blue Army fan base can probably forget about buying exciting stars for now. Although loans do regularly, or sometimes, uncover and unlock absolute gems like Jordan James. Aaron Ramsey would seemingly be a boost if he stayed readily available as well. Nevertheless, and forgetting incomings for a moment, can any sales help the East Midlands team this summer if not in Jan'?

£22million cash injection would help Leicester City with Champions League and Europa League sides after Bilal El Khannouss transfer

It is always difficult to wave goodbye to a quality and classy operator. But not so much in El Khannouss's case: he annoyed many Leicester supporters by pushing for a move like Riyad Mahrez of Wesley Fofana.

This may come as a surprise to the Morocco international - but he isn't bigger or more significant than our great club! At least LCFC will reportedly get their original investment (£21m) back. Yet talk of a bidding war is ostensibly wide of the mark due to the buy option:

"However, Newcastle, owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), face competition from other Premier League clubs also interested in El Khannouss.

Stuttgart, where El Khannouss has settled well, holds an option to buy the attacker for €20-25million (up to £22m, $29.1m), potentially sparking a bidding war.

However, the key is that El Khannouss would have to accept a permanent switch to Germany and could rebuff Stuttgart’s plans – and that is likely if Premier League clubs come into play."
