One star of Leicester City Football Club was expected to take the Championship by storm during the current campaign. Why wouldn't he?! You see, the player in question has actually done so before in the very same division. Therfore there is no real excuse for this (I don't want to use the word 'former', here) Foxes fan favourite to be somewhat struggling or even floundering in a league which we know for a fact he's 'completed'!
Maybe giving the winger a successive run in the starting lineup will reignite his fire, desire and confidence on the pitch. Who knows? And the senior Fox does now also have peers as rivals for his spot, along with an amazing up-and-coming star of King Power Stadium. Nevertheless, a Leicester journalist has told head coach Marti Cifuentes to reinstate the underperforming baller as his and others' goal involvements for the camping are analysed.
Leicester City implored to start wingman Stephy Mavididi after an uneven and unproductive season so far
Just to quickly give my brief overview of Mavididi, I am a fan. Though I would also select on form. At the moment, it is difficult to choose between the young but often effective Jeremy Monga and the 27-year-old.
"He’s in a good position. With good players, I’m always optimistic that they pick up their best level and I’m sure Stephy will get there."Marti Cifuentes, via LCFC Live
If pushed, I'd continue with Monga while having Mavididi as an impact substitute. On the contrary, I can totally understand why Leicester Mercury reporter Jordan Blackwell advocates the elder Fox's inclusion:
"Really, the only way Mavididi will get there is with a run of starts to do so. It’s time he was handed that."Jordan Blackwell's retort to Cifuentes
Goal involvements analysed
One bright Foxes element this term could arguably be the fact that the team shares goals. Obviously not having a goalscoring hitman up front, such as Jamie Vardy, has hindered overall productivity on Filbert Way.
Yet a side containing goalscorers all-over is generally considered a great factor. So which City players have chipped in the most? Let's see:
"Combined goals and assists in the Championship for City this season: Abdul Fatawu (6), Jordan James (4), Jordan Ayew (3), Jannik Vestergaard (2), Ricardo Pereira (2), Wout Faes (2), Jeremy Monga (2), Patson Daka (2), Aaron Ramsey (2), Bilal El Khannouss (2), Harry Winks (1), Boubakary Soumare (1), Bobby De Cordova-Reid (1), Louis Page (1)."
