Leicester transfer news: Ruud van Nistelrooy already working on Man United deal
By Kian Long
In today's Leicester transfer news - Ruud van Nistelrooy has pinpointed the one Man United player he wants to bring to Leicester, potentially using his connections.
To say Ruud van Nistelrooy is well-known at Man United would be an incredible understatement. He is a club legend there, through and through. Not only did he bang in the goals during his playing days but he led the team well during his interim manager peiod.
He did so well, in fact, that he caught the eye of Leicester when it came to replacing Steve Cooper. This was hardly a surprise, considering RvN beat Steve Cooper twice during his short period as Man United boss. Now, though, he is looking to add a piece of Man United spice to Leicester.
Leicester transfer news: Ruud van Nistelrooy already working on Man United deal
According to a report from The Sun, Ruud van Nistelrooy would like to sign Man United youngster Toby Collyer on loan. The report states that United have no interest in permanently selling Collyer but having worked with him closely, Ruud believes Collyer could help Leicester avoid the drop this season.
Collyer is believed to be an incredibly hard worker. He has also shown that he has a bright future ahead of him, having made his debut against Man City in the Community Shield this season.
It is within Man United's best interests to keep Collyer at the club. However, they could be open-minded about allowing him to leave temporarily, for the sake of his game-time. They know how great Ruud is at developing young players, therefore a loan move to Leicester would make sense.
Collyer, despite being a young player, is an incredibly mature midfielder. In fact, he is capable of leading an entire midfield and carrying out a multitude of different tasks at once. It's fair to say that Leicester would benefit from this.
As it stands, Leicester are 16th in the table. However, they are capable of climbing the table, particularly if Ruud's high-flying start is anything to go off. A strong January transfer window is predicted, with Leicester dabbling into the loan market for players like Collyer.
