Leicester City must get creative this summer with respect to transfers and loans - along with their own impending sales! The Foxes find themselves navigating a treacherous landscape where prudence is no longer a virtue but a desperate financial necessity.

After a calamitous second successive relegation, the club is shackled by the draconian weight of Profit and Sustainability Rules following a devastating six-point deduction. The stewardship of The King Power International Group, once lauded for their fairy-tale ambition, is now under scrutiny; their questionable board practices and staggering losses have left the faithful wondering if the LE2 club would be better off without their influence.

Yet in the volatile theatre of football ownership, this may be a "better the devil you know" situation, as the alternative could prove even more ruinous. But this writer wouldn't bet on it!

Leicester City transfer talk: Tyrese Shade

Tyrese Shade is one man who could possibly be ideal in City's quest to evade the clutches of League One football upon the first time of asking. The 25-year-old winger/forward, an international for Saint Kitts and Nevis, is a familiar face in the Filbert Way corridors.

"Burton Albion hotshot Tyrese Shade could light up former club Leicester City next season, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal."

Shade spent five years with the outfit from age 17-22 before being cast adrift; never making a senior appearance. Though he reinvented himself at Burton Albion, flourishing in League One during the 2025/26 campaign.

The Birmingham-born, lower league baller's profile is one of raw dynamism and versatility. Primarily a wide man, his transition to a central role has yielded a prolific return of 14 goals in all competitions.

WhoScored analytics highlight a player who thrives on high-intensity transitions, possessing the physical attributes required to bully tier three defences. Given Leicester's dearth of scoring options, Shade represents a shrewd, cost-effective homecoming.

The one-time Fox's intimate knowledge of the club's DNA (which is a waning culture) combined with a newfound clinical edge in the the Foxes' new division, makes Shade a precise surgical addition to a squad in desperate need of redemption. Interestingly, Brewers boss Gary Bowyer doesn't expect to keep his talented player this summer.

"...even manager Gary Bowyer is touting his talented front man for bigger and better things next term."

Many predict bigger and better things for Shade. However, Burton reportedly rejected a £1 million offer in January of this year. Nevertheles, the goalscorer's contract expires in a year, making the time right for all parties.

Leading the line on Filbert Way can be a daunting prospect for some athletes. Although, Shade could arguably be deployed on the wing or as a support or substitute striker at Leicester too.
