Leicester vs QPR: Predicted Foxes FA Cup XI

Leicester City's poor run of form in the Premier League will have Ruud van Nistelrooy hoping for a much better showing in the FA Cup. The Foxes face QPR in their next match-up: here is our predicted XI for the critical Cup tie.

At the back, Luke Thomas performed well against Aston Villa, so should start again here with the view of possibly playing again against Crystal Palace should Victor Kristiansen remain absent due to illness. Wout Faes will have to play and Conor Coady is in favour, so I doubt we shall see Caleb Okoli. At right back, switching Justin for Hamza Choudhury makes the most sense to avoid playing an out-of-form fullback giving goals away for fun.

In midfield, I feel Oliver Skipp deserves a runout, although I cannot possibly imagine dropping Boubakary Soumare who had both proven vital to how we create chances and retain possession. So, Harry Winks could be rested for Skipp. As well as this, I think Will Alves - who performed well in a brief stint on his senior debut - could well be in for a chance to play instead of our current best player Bilal El Khannouss.

Up front, Patson Daka, Kasey McAteer, and Facundo Buonanotte would be my preference. Giving Jamie Vardy - vital for our Premier League survival - some time to rest, while also starting our best player and a passionate academy graduate. Of course, Leicester might just play the surprisingly impressive Jordan Ayew in place of Buonanotte.

This would make the line-up a 4-3-3 following the same principles which have underpinned honestly good performances from Leicester City. Whether this would improve our defensive output is a different concern, but certainly, the King Power Club needs to stick with the system and deal with the mistakes being made.
