If you are unaware, Leicester City Football Club released some players on Tuesday, May 27. Announcements of for other leavers also transpired. 11 of City's playing personnel in total have already exited after the culmination of the 2024/25 season. We will detail those people in question.

Meanwhile, one of the now former LCFC men is said to have joined a new side even at this stage. There will be illumination on that matter later on as well. But one of the Foxes' other recently discarded undesirables is in fact the subject of this particular piece.

Already ex-Foxes

First of all, the following comprise the group who have exited: Daniel Iversen, Danny Ward and Jamie Vardy. Next up are the so-called young professionals: Ben Grist, Oliver Ewing, Deniche Hill, Liam McAlinney, Harvey Godsmark-Ford, Arjan Raikhy, Brad Young and Joe Wormleighton.

Of course, it is particularly sad to wave goodbye to Vardy. Though Ward won't be anywhere near as fondly remembered, in spite of some penalty-saving heroics.

While Iversen didn't quite make the great on Filbert Way. Nonetheless Preston North End wanted the one-time Denmark Under-21s goalkeeper. He'll signed for the northern English outfit on June 1.

So Iversen has a new team in the Lilywhites, but what of his once colleague and also released Fox, Danny Ward? No reports presently claim that Ward has his next club lined up. Both should have left LCFC long ago.

Furthermore, it must be said that the contrast in Leicester transfer business over the past decade is stark. You have success stories such as Kasper Schmeichel, Jamie Vardy, N'golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez. All acquired for relative pittances.

Then there are the mistakes. And wow - City have made more of those in the market than quality signings. Worryingly, Ward cost £12.5 million. £13m was outlaid for Filip Benkovic. £15.8m for Vestergaard. Although I think £28m for Islam Slimani is up there.
