The Blue Army better brace themselves for a few more shocks and let downs before the new season begins, with respect to the evolution of the Leicester City squad. One or two senior players, and potentially some youngsters, will leave; fresh contracts will be rejected or not offered to arguably deserving athletes.

Not to mention a star or two like Abdul Fatawu being tipped to depart. Just as precocious young talent Jeremy Monga did when former Leicester City head coach Enzo Maresca and Manchester City swooped; accepting the reality of the transfer market isn't easy.

However, the funds recouped by the Foxes hierarchy in these instances will accumulate to enough, hopefully, for financial mismanagement to be a thing of the past at King Power Stadium. Relinquishing some of their best, or most promising, assets appears to be an acceptable tradeoff in order for the East Midlands outfit to even survive existentially.

Other exits are reportedly near; they include Danish pair Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen. Both men were drastically disappointing, though it remains a cold truth that LCFC paid over the odds in both cases respectively.

Meanwhile, Harry Winks is about to join Cagliari too; his impending departure was well received by many Leicester supporters. Though some still cherish the former Tottenham Hotspur man for some reason; the necessity of his exit is undeniable.

Other leavers could include Caleb Okoli and Oliver Skipp, with the Leicestershire side's bosses looking to rid unnecessarily high wages from the books for underperformers. It is a ruthless yet essential strategy for an organisation trying to balance its books while maintaining a competitive edge.

Silko Thomas leaves Leicester City

In addition to all those professionals seeking, or being forced into, pastures new, winger Silko Thomas has gone as well. He is said to be in advanced discussions with an unnamed League One club, marking another departure from the youth ranks in awkward circumstances.

This development was revealed by a Football Insider reporter following Thomas revealing he had officially left Leicester City. According to Peter O'Rourke, the 22-year-old declined a new agreement with the Foxes so he could 'seek a new challenge' elsewhere.

"Thomas did feature in 17 Championship matches for Leicester City last season. However, albeit having played very limited minutes, he was unable to make a telling impact in his cameo appearances. "

While the loss of emerging talent is never easy for the faithful to digest, it is an inevitable consequence of the current restructuring on Filbert Way. Whether these departures ultimately pave the way for a more sustainable future remains the pivotal question for the season ahead.
