Thankfully, Leicester City returned to winning ways against Derby County on Saturday afternoon following a lunchtime kick-off against a fairly local foe. Though, in spite or this being a clear Midlands derby which their loyal fans were obviously desperate to win - they will claim 'not to care about the Foxes'. You'll notice teams near us claiming to be unconcerned with City - but subsequently treating our game like their very own cup final. Odd. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are both culprits there too.

That is absolutely fine with us as well. We're only bothered about taking three points from the various outfits in the centre of England - as we so often do! Along with regularly outshining so-called bigger clubs as well. Anyway, how did we rate the LCFC squad after they embarrassed Derby at their own Pride Park Stadium? Here are the King Power winners and any applicable losers who stood out for right and wrong reasons versus the Rams. Let's take a look at Marti Cifuentes' victorious men.

Did anyone let the Leicester City side down?

Let's consult Leicester Mercury's Player Ratings to give us a definite overview here. Abdul Fatawu was slightly indifferent again; he scored a '6'. Similarly, the inconsistent Jordan Ayew (though robbed of a legitimate goal) was handed a 6.

"Abdul Fatawu: He did what all good wingers should do and charged forward into the space to help set up the first goal. He worked hard too, but he still wasn’t quite himself, his crosses rarely finding a blue shirt. He didn’t celebrate the first goal either. He was substituted not long after frustrating Cifuentes by losing the ball cheaply. 6"

'Rusty' goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk got a 6 as well. However, it is worth reminding that he is returning from injury.

The Foxes that stood out

Bobby De Cordova-Reid (8), Jordan James (8) and Oliver Skipp (9) netted the goals that won Leicester the game on the day. Goalscorers are typically favourably rated, and often play well for the remainder due to that very action.

Defenders Ricardo Pereira, Ben Nelson and Luke Thomas received 8s. Winger Stephy Mavididi earned himself the same rating. We have only included starters in this piece.
