Loved ex-Leicester & England striker returns to play for English team

Having consecutive seasons such as the so-called 'Great Escape' campaign along with the 'Incredibles' term means Leicester City Football Club has many bygone legends. Former stars whom ever other clubs' fan bases are even fond of. The subject of the piece today is definitely one of those much-loved footballers who played with a smile on his face and was an absolute character.

Unfortunately none of the standout or peripheral personnel from the 2014/15 Premier League season, where the Foxes somehow avoided relegation under ex-boss Nigel Pearson, remain at King Power Stadium. Neither, sadly, do any of Claudio Ranieri's unfathomable side from 2016 reside on Filbert Way in a playing sense anymore.

I won't have to explain to you what the latter group achieved. Suffice to say, winning the Premier League with a team and club of this size is an incredible story. But we are not talking of Ranieri and his men in this particular article. No. We focus on the Pearson era; although much of the Italian's starting lineup was compiled and developed by the latter. So, who is this well-liked baller, once of Leicester and England? And why us he returning to play for an English team at a ripe age?

Nugent, or Nuge, was and is an LCFC fan favourite. At the tender age of 40, he's back in the game.

The centre forward has been retired for approximately four years after last featuring for Tranmere Rovers on loan from Preston North End. Anstey is now his new home.

The team compete in the Northern Premier League – Midlands Division. The Huyton-born pro will actually take a player/coach role with the Nomads. Nuge arrived 24 hours before they play Loughborough Students.
