Leicester City have long been renowned for producing outstanding academy talent, with their youth setup at Belvoir Drive previously standing out for excellence. The subsequent move to the state-of-the-art Seagrave Training Centre took their development programme to an entirely new level.
The upgraded facility allowed the club to attract the very best young players across Leicestershire. A deliberate focus on nurturing local talent existed in order to build a distinct, strong cultural identity rather than casting a wider net for uninterested, expensive recruits.
Alongside this geographic focus, the club's financial resources, standing in the game, and calibre of management once made it an appealing destination for promising young footballers historically. Though the landscape at King Power Stadium has shifted in recent times: particularly in terms of financial strength and on-field competitiveness.
Leicester rarely recruit Under-16 players from different parts of the country. Not only do such deals require compensation. Leicester feel they might dilute the strong local feel they have sought to create at their £95m base in the Leicestershire countryside.

Even so, Leicester's academy remains remarkably robust and is widely considered one of the most influential and respected talent production hubs across the entire English football system. Over the past five years, for example, LCFC's most celebrated academy graduates have included standout midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, dynamic winger Harvey Barnes, versatile defensive player Hamza Choudhury and defender Luke Thomas.
While Kasey McAteer also secured a notable transfer fee when he departed for Ipswich Town. Today, the next wave of highly-rated prospects is led by tenacious midfielder Sammy Braybrooke, technically gifted playmaker Louis Page, outstanding up-and-comer Jayden Joseph, the exciting Will Alves and sought-after talent Bade Aluko; keen youngster Jake Evans could earn regular senior opportunities and emerge as the squad's future backbone too.
Jeremy Monga is another prodigious talent, although he has now left the East Midlands club. He joined former Foxes head coach Enzo Maresca at Manchester City in a deal that could rise to as much as £15 million - a near-unprecedented sum for a player of his age, even given his immense potential. Now, however, it is Page who looks likely to be the next high-profile departure; a transfer that would leave Leicester supporters disappointed to lose one of the most promising young players on their books.

Manchester United are currently reported to be in negotiations to sign the 18-year-old attacking midfielder; a distinguished England Under-20 international and EFL Apprentice of the Year who's already featured in 21 senior LCFC matches. The Red Devils will not have an easy path to securing his signature due to both Arsenal and Aston Villa reportedly entering the race to compete to secure his services.
